The City of Waterloo will be mailing replacement voter cards to local residents – after an issue was noted with cards sent to City of Waterloo voters for the upcoming municipal election.
According to the city, those previously issued cards had incorrect information identifying voting locations for October 24, directing residents to one of the city’s ‘supervote’ locations or community centres rather than the voter’s neighbourhood polling station.
It’s noted that voters can still vote at the location listed on the card, as anyone living in the City of Waterloo can vote at a ‘supervote’ location on election day – though voters may instead choose a location closer to their own neighbourhood to avoid crowds, as those locations are expected to be busy. The voter card information for advance voting and ‘supervote’ sites is said to be correct.
